A far-left candidate backed by the \u201cSquad\u201d has come away as the winner in the Democratic primary for Pennsylvania\u2019s 3rd Congressional District.<\/p>\n

Chris Rabb, a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, clinched the nomination in the crowded primary contest in what is seen as the nation\u2019s most Democratic district.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith no clear Republican challenger, Tuesday night\u2019s winner is expected to sail to victory in November in what is considered the nation\u2019s most Democratic Congressional District,\u201d Fox News<\/a> noted.<\/p>\n

Rabb accrued endorsements from a who\u2019s who list of progressive figures, locally and nationally. That includes U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who joined him for a campaign rally Friday, and other members of the \u201cSquad,\u201d including U.S. Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ro Khanna (D-CA), and Jamie Raskin (D-MD), according to WHYY.<\/p>\n

The 56-year-old was also endorsed by the left-wing Working Families Party and the Justice Democrats, as well as Philadelphia City Council Minority Leader Kendra Brooks and Minority Whip Nicolas O\u2019Rourke, both members of the Working Families Party.<\/p>\n

Politico<\/a> noted that Rabb\u2019s victory \u201cis as much an exclamation point for progressives as it is a remarkable rebuke of Philadelphia\u2019s Democratic machine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a major win for the party\u2019s left flank and a significant blow to the city\u2019s storied political machine, which split between two other candidates in the race,\u201d the outlet reported, noting how Rabb beat out former chairman of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, State Sen. Sharif Street who had the backing of most of the city\u2019s establishment, including the endorsement of the state party and Mayor Cherelle Parker.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey told me this wasn\u2019t possible. That\u2019s what they said,\u201d he said during a victory speech. \u201cI don\u2019t know who they are, but I know who we are. I\u2019m looking at \u2018We the people.\u2019 And I\u2019m not talking about we the people 250 years ago. That was a much smaller we. I\u2019m talking about the aggressive fabulosity of this we.\u201d<\/p>\n

If Rabb goes on to victory in November, his \u201cplatform would make him one of the harshest critics of Israel in Congress,\u201d\u00a0 according to The Times of Israel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe supports a complete embargo on arms sales to Israel. He posted on X last week that \u2018the Nakba never ended,\u2019 and said he would co-sponsor a resolution with Omar and Tlaib to \u2018recognize the Nakba and reaffirm Palestinian refugees\u2019 right to return,’\u201d the outlet reported.<\/p>\n
