Rev. Franklin Graham warned of the \u201cdownward moral decline\u201d in America during a Washington, D.C., prayer rally, lamenting that the nation has become \u201csick with sin.\u201d<\/p>\n

As thousands gathered on the National Mall on Sunday for \u201cRededicate 250,\u201d Graham delivered a video message aired during the daylong prayer and patriotism rally ahead of the nation\u2019s 250th birthday. Along with his evangelistic message encouraging faith and salvation through Jesus Christ, the son of the late Billy Graham also warned of modern trends that have taken America in the wrong direction.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur nation was born in a struggle 250 years ago, and we\u2019re still in a struggle today,\u201d Graham began.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur struggle then was to be free from British rule. But our struggle today is to be free from the rule of sins that are weakening the foundations of our great republic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cThe spiritual climate of 2026 is vastly different than the country our Founding Fathers established in 1776,\u201d Graham said. \u201cThe vast majority of Americans then had at least a basic understanding of the Bible.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to point out how the Bible today has been \u201cremoved from our schools and, for the most part, the public square. \u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a downward moral decline spiraling ever deeper into the mire. Things that never would have been talked about publicly just 30 years ago, sinful behavior that should make us blush, is now celebrated and flaunted on Main Street America,\u201d Graham said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmerica has become morally rotten, completely sick with sin; transgenderism, same-sex marriage, opening women\u2019s locker rooms to men, are just the tip of the iceberg,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Graham shared that he would love to see a revival in the nation, but \u201cthere can be no revival without prayer and repentance.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 73-year-old president and CEO of Samaritan\u2019s Purse then offered up a prayer to God,\u00a0 noting that \u201cas George Washington reminded us, morality and faith are the pillars of our society.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe confess that these pillars are being eroded. Too long we have neglected thy word and ignored thy laws. Too long we have tried to solve our problems without reference to thee,\u201d he prayed.<\/p>\n

Graham ended with a call for all to \u201cput your faith and trust in God\u2019s son, Jesus Christ, who can give you true freedom and forgiveness of sins.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cRededicate 250\u201d event included messages from President Donald Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.<\/p>\n
