Democrats remain the favorites in November, just no longer overwhelmingly so,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>She wasn\u2019t wrong, though. Democrats do remain the favorite, though that could change further if the Iran war ends and economic conditions rapidly rebound.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-graf\">\u201cA lot of stuff has been upended by the conflict in Iran,\u201d a Republican strategist told NBC News. \u201cI think everyone is on the same page that we would all like that to end for a variety of reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-graf\">\u201cWe\u2019re seeing the signs of an economy that is trying to come back to life \u2014 something like a conflict with Iran is what\u2019s holding it back. We get that done, I think we\u2019re in a good spot,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans, for the most part, remain comfortable with the advantages they\u2019ve accrued in the redistricting wars. Republican Rep. Richard Hudson said in a statement that Friday\u2019s Virginia court ruling was \u201cyet another sign Republicans have the momentum heading into November.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re on offense, and we\u2019re going to win,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepHudsonNC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RepHudsonNC<\/a> Statement on NRCC Victory as Court Strikes Down Illegal Virginia Democrat Gerrymander <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/n7LrBDzXYK\">pic.twitter.com\/n7LrBDzXYK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NRCC (@NRCC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NRCC\/status\/2052753258263756818?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 8, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Funnily enough, some Democrats think the exact same thing.<\/p>\n<p>Democrat Rep. Suzan DelBene said in a Friday statement that Democrats \u201cremain poised to retake the House majority in November\u201d despite the Virginia ruling.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate post on social media, she complained about the Virginia ruling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, four unelected judges decided to cast aside the will of the voters in Virginia,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SuzanDelBene\/status\/2052909632826310745\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cThis is a setback that sends a terrible message to all Americans \u2013 the powerful and elite will do everything they can to silence you. House Democrats will not let this happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another Democrat, a national strategist, told NBC News that, despite Friday\u2019s ruling, it \u201cdoes not change our overall outlook in how we are thinking about and our confidence in winning back the House.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The strategist added that Republicans have shown \u201cthey don\u2019t give a s\u2013t about\u201d voters by now calling for taxpayer funds to be used to pay for President Trump\u2019s desired ballroom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re paying $4.60 for gas and Trump and House Republicans want to use your tax dollars not to help lower prices but to pay for a gold-laden ballroom for him to drink Champagne in?\u201d the Democrat noted. \u201cYou can\u2019t dream up a better contrast if you tried.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/gw-happy-trump-1200x630.jpg\" title=\"Midterms looking better for Republicans after Dems\u2019 redistricting fight disaster\" \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congressional Republicans have reportedly gained a notable advantage going into the midterms thanks to recent redistricting wins.
