Ilhan Omar\u2019s (D) alleged ties to fraud failed to advance.<\/p>\n<p>Rampant fraud in Minnesota has proven sufficient to merit Gov. Tim Walz\u2019s (D) suspension of his re-election campaign and ongoing efforts by investigators to determine the parties responsible for billions of dollars\u2019 worth of scams. However, at the state level on Tuesday, an attempt by the Minnesota House Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee was unable to secure a subpoena for Omar after she shrugged off a request for documents and testimony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMembers, as you know, we have reached out to Representative Ilhan Omar on multiple occasions, inviting her to testify \u2026 and requesting documents that appeared in the trial exhibit of the U.S. v. Aimee Bock,\u201d committee chair state Rep. Kristin Robbins (R) said prior to the vote to subpoena the congresswoman. Bock was found guilty for her role in the roughly $250 million COVID-19 fraud scheme, Feeding Our Future, of which Omar has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizpacreview.com\/2025\/12\/04\/she-knew-ilhan-omar-accused-of-being-in-on-fraud-by-her-states-somali-community-1608078\/\">accused of being in on<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">NEW: Democrats BLOCKED a motion to subpoena documents relating Rep. Ilhan Omar\u2019s involvement in the Minnesota fraud scandal. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VhcJJ9h9Bm\">pic.twitter.com\/VhcJJ9h9Bm<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kristin Robbins (@KRobbinsMN) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KRobbinsMN\/status\/2051807438173520134?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 5, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cHer office or her staff was named in multiple trial exhibits, and we have endeavored in multiple ways to get access to that because, as everyone knows, Representative Omar had some role, whether inadvertent or not,\u201d continued Robbins. \u201cShe passed the MEALS Act in March 2020, and that took the guardrails off the federal school nutrition program, which created the conditions for [fraud].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the effort, the vote ultimately failed in the eight-member committee as none of the Democrats voted in favor to meet the two-thirds threshold.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do think the subpoena is important. This is one of dozens, if not hundreds, of things we are investigating. We have had hundreds of whistleblower reports. They continue to come in weekly,\u201d said Robbins. \u201cEven though the committee will no longer have official hearings, we will continue to investigate these whistleblower reports and webs of fraud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On top of alleged ties to the fraud, much of which is related to her own Somali community in Minnesota, Omar has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizpacreview.com\/2026\/04\/27\/ilhan-omars-husbands-wine-company-has-been-officially-dissolved-amid-scrutiny-1635100\/\">faced increased scrutiny<\/a> over her finances, leading to \u2014 as independent journalist Nick Sortor put it \u2014 \u201cawfully coincidental\u201d timing where it concerned her husband\u2019s wine company being dissolved. The company was just one element in Omar\u2019s amended financial disclosures after eyebrows were raised about an initial reporting of a spike in net worth between $5 million and $30 million.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the setback in the Minnesota House, Robbins told Fox News Digital that she\u00a0would reach out to allies in Congress to see if they would issue a subpoena on her behalf.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have so many investigations going on, I don\u2019t know where this falls on the priority list,\u201d stated the lawmaker who posted to X, \u201cIt\u2019s the same story every time.
