{"id":597100,"date":"2026-05-06T12:30:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T12:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=597100"},"modified":"2026-05-06T12:30:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T12:30:00","slug":"corning-shares-erupt-on-nvidia-deal-to-supercharge-fiber-optics-output-by-10x","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=597100","title":{"rendered":"Corning Shares Erupt On Nvidia Deal To Supercharge Fiber Optics Output By 10x"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Corning Shares Erupt On Nvidia Deal To Supercharge Fiber Optics Output By 10x <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p>U.S.-based glass company Corning soared in premarket trading in New York after announcing a new mega deal with Nvidia to expand manufacturing capacity for fiber optic production used in AI data centers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Corning will increase its U.S.-based optical connectivity manufacturing capacity by 10x and expand its U.S. fiber production capacity by more than 50% to meet the accelerating demand driven by AI factory buildouts<\/strong>,&#8221; Nvidia wrote in a press release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/highdensityfiberconnectivity.jpg?itok=-G0162MQ\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/highdensityfiberconnectivity.jpg?itok=-G0162MQ\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"73991e66-0bf8-4bf8-80b6-7efdcc2b00af\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"357\" width=\"500\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/highdensityfiberconnectivity.jpg?itok=-G0162MQ\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The expansion includes three new manufacturing plants in North Carolina and Texas and is expected to create more than 3,000 high-paying U.S. jobs.<\/p>\n<p>In a filing, Corning disclosed that Nvidia is making a $500 million equity-linked investment.<\/p>\n<p>Under the deal, Corning issued Nvidia two warrants:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><em>Traditional warrant: Nvidia can buy up to 15 million Corning shares at $180 per share.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em>Pre-funded warrant: Nvidia can buy up to 3 million Corning shares at a nominal exercise price of $0.0001 per share.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Both warrants are exercisable immediately and expire within three years, unless earlier triggered by the termination of the partnership agreement or a major M&amp;A transaction.<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia noted, &#8220;Corning&#8217;s expanded capacity will supply the optical connectivity hyperscale data centers use to deploy NVIDIA-accelerated computing at scale.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In premarket trading, Nvidia shares are up 2.4%, while Corning shares are ripping higher, up 20%.<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/Snag_49890ed8.png?itok=et_2kyu5\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/Snag_49890ed8.png?itok=et_2kyu5\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"632f4f37-cc8f-494b-8506-194f97c2651c\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"276\" width=\"500\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/Snag_49890ed8.png?itok=et_2kyu5\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Corning-Nvidia deal to expand fiber-optic production to supply data centers comes as hyperscalers are set to spend $700 billion this year alone on data center buildouts.<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/hyperscalers%20capex_0.jpg?itok=kE9mYnN7\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/hyperscalers%20capex_0.jpg?itok=kE9mYnN7\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"343\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/hyperscalers%20capex_0.jpg?itok=kE9mYnN7\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>UBS trader Robert Ruple told clients last week that &#8220;there was a mixed bag of hyperscaler prints that leaned generally constructive and nothing he would call out that really shifts the narrative.
