Bucking the president\u2019s own dissatisfaction, a Senate war hawk doubled down on his calls for a \u201cSecond Amendment solution\u201d in Iran.<\/p>\n

For all the flip-flopping frustration that elected officials tend to give voters, there is one lawmaker who remains fairly consistent on one issue, and that\u2019s South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) when it comes to pushing overseas conflict.<\/p>\n

Even as President Donald Trump shifted the focus in the Middle East toward Project Freedom\u2019s humanitarian effort, the congressman pushed for arming opposition in Iran to \u201cmake the Revolutionary Guard\u2019s life hell.\u201d<\/p>\n

During his latest appearance on Fox News with host Sean Hannity on Monday, the senator was given time to speak on the situation where he contended, \u201cIf I were President Trump and I were Israel, I would load the Iranian people up with weapons so they can go to the streets armed and turn the tide of battle inside Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t need American boots on the ground. We\u2019ve got millions of boots on the ground in Iran,\u201d continued Graham. \u201cThey just don\u2019t have any weapons. Give \u2019em the weapons so they can rise up like we did to destroy this regime. A Second Amendment solution, I think, would go a long way to ending this war.\u201d<\/p>\n

Days earlier, the president voiced his own disfavor for how an attempt to that end had turned out, telling reporters outside the White House, \u201cI\u2019m not happy with the delivery of the weapons. I\u2019m not thrilled with it. But a small amount of weapons were sent, and we\u2019ll see who has them. But I\u2019m not happy with what happened with the Kurds. The Kurds did not deliver the weapons.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hannity raised that point as he said, \u201cMy understanding is there have been attempts to do so, and they tried to funnel it through groups-\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDo it again,\u201d Graham cut in as the host continued, \u201cMy understanding is, for example, working with the Kurds, they were stealing 90% of the weapons.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t work with the Kurds,\u201d the senator spat back. \u201cWork with somebody else. And if you can prove to me that the Kurds were stealing the weapons, the Kurds will regret that. I love the idea of empowering the Iranian people with weapons, a Second Amendment solution to make the Revolutionary Guard\u2019s life hell. It\u2019s one thing to be bombed by America. It\u2019s another thing to have your neighbor shoot back at you because they\u2019re tired of being slaughtered.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sales pitch came as Graham wsa welcomed on the program with a recap of a post earlier in the day responding to attacks from Iran on the United Arab Emirates that read in part, \u201cA forceful response on behalf of our ally, UAE, will reinforce that America is back as a reliable ally, helping to further wash away the damage caused by the Biden administration on this front.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also insisted, \u201cThe combination of Iran\u2019s attack against the UAE\u2019s vital infrastructure and continued attacks on international shipping, including a South Korean cargo ship, more than justifies a big, strong and short response to inflict further damage on Iran\u2019s war machine.\u201d<\/p>\n
