So much for this crime prevention tactic in sometimes lawless New Orleans…<\/p>\n

While a gang was breaking into vehicles in Uptown New Orleans late at night, they came upon a pickup truck in the dark with a scary-looking figure inside. It was a mannequin wearing a Michael Myers mask from the Halloween<\/em> films. <\/p>\n

The result however wasn’t anticipated: several shots were fired at the vehicle with over 20 bullet holes in the truck. Two other vehicles were also hit.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly in New Orleans, at the time of reporting, there were no arrests in the case.<\/p>\n

The location of the incident took place near Tulane University, in the elite tier of pricey schools. (See the site on Google Maps<\/a>.) I suppose a cost of tuition, shared dormitory, and food plan in 2025-26 at $91,628<\/a> is a bargain for some. <\/p>\n

The action film and violent drama around campus is however offered up at no additional charge. <\/p>\n

Long ago I studied at Tulane for a bit with a partial scholarship when it wasn’t so outrageously expensive. Over six students died that year, on and off campus, and EVERYONE I knew had gotten mugged at least once, it seemed. But Mardi Gras and the partying were fantastic. <\/p>\n
