President Donald Trump prompted laughter in the Oval Office as he shared a personal take on one reporter and his girlfriend.<\/p>\n

Taking questions in the Oval Office, the president responded to Brian Glenn, White House correspondent for the Real America\u2019s Voice network, as he was asked about passing the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, also known as the SAVE America Act. The legislation, which would include the requirement of proof of U.S. citizenship to vote, has stalled as Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has not acted on Trump\u2019s call to end the filibuster.<\/p>\n

Glenn, who is dating former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga), a staunch Trump supporter before doing a 180 and then resigning from Congress, questioned the president about the Senate eliminating the filibuster.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey should do it,\u201d Trump replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd John Thune is a good man. I said to him, \u2018John, just go take a vote. Let\u2019s expose who the people are.\u2019 But you know, if we got rid of the filibuster, we could vote on the SAVE America Act. Voter ID,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The president then took a personal moment with the reporter, telling Glenn, \u201cYou know, you act so good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI love this guy. He\u2019s a great guy, even though I don\u2019t love his girlfriend too much,\u201d Trump quipped, drawing laughter from the room. \u201cIve always liked him. It\u2019s great that he hasn\u2019t changed.\u201d<\/p>\n

At another point in the Q&A with the president, Glenn shared that he calls Trump \u201cthe peacemaker.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I\u2019m helping people out. That\u2019s a nice question, actually, but I\u2019m helping people,\u201d Trump replied.<\/p>\n

Social media users appreciated Trump\u2019s humor and his jab at Glenn\u2019s \u201cgirlfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n
