Grassroots activist Scott Presler has been warning Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) that if the GOP leader failed to pass the SAVE America Act by the end of April, that he \u2014 Pressler \u2014 would actively oppose the reelection of Thune-favorite Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX).<\/p>\n

The incumbent senator is locked in a tight primary race runoff with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, with Paxton pushing Cornyn hard to ensure the voter integrity bill is passed.<\/p>\n

Thune has been dragging his feet in what appears more and more to be an attempt to run out the clock on the legislation, claiming he does not have the votes to pass the bill, OR to nuke the filibuster to proceed with a simple majority. The usual suspects, Sens. Susan Collins (R-MN), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and Thom Tillis (R-NC) stand in the breach, preventing action on a bill widely supported by the American people.<\/p>\n

True to his work, Presler shared a post on X explaining to donors that they can not only request refunds from WinRed made in support of Cornyn, but also to a WinRed questionnaire signaled Thune\u2019s backing for requiring proof of citizenship in federal voter registration.<\/p>\n
