A Republican candidate for mayor in California lit up social media with a campaign ad that has many convinced he could win the Los Angeles race.<\/p>\n

Former reality TV star Spencer Pratt has the odds stacked against him as a Republican aiming to become the next mayor of Los Angeles, but a campaign ad that dropped on Wednesday seems to have added wind to his sails.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m telling you this guy is going to win,\u201d Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Sen. John McCain, wrote<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n

The 30-second clip seemed to resonate with many,\u00a0 especially Angelenos living under incumbent Mayor Karen Bass (D), in the aftermath of the devastating and destructive Pacific Palisades fires.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is where Mayor Bass lives. You notice something? Or here, where Nithya Raman\u2019s three-million-dollar mansion sits,\u201d Pratt says in the opening of the video, outside of Bass\u2019s home, then that of Los Angeles city councilmember Nithya Raman, who is running for mayor.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey don\u2019t have to live in the mess they\u2019ve created, where you live,\u201d Pratt continues in the clip, which has racked up more than seven million views on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is where I live,\u201d he says before a mobile home. \u201cThey let my home burn down.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know what the consequences of failed leadership are. That\u2019s why I\u2019m running for mayor, for my sons and the rest of us Angelenos that want to stop these corrupt politicians from destroying our city,\u201d he concluded. \u201cWe are going to get the Golden Age of Los Angeles back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last week, Pratt dropped a cheeky \u201chouse tour\u201d of his temporary residence, \u201cthanks to Karen Bass.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles mayoral election is nonpartisan, as Pratt noted earlier this year, confirming that he was registered as a Republican.<\/p>\n

\u201cI registered Republican in 2020 and never changed it. And I wasn\u2019t going to change it now just to check a different box,\u201d he wrote on X. \u201cThis is a non-partisan race \u2013 there will be no D or R next to my name. As Mayor, I will not serve either party. I will work with anyone who wants to help the City. No labels necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been in the public eye most of my life and there isn\u2019t any dirt you can find on me that hasn\u2019t already been aired. Seems like the only thing people don\u2019t know is my voter registration, so here go: I registered Republican in 2020 and never changed it. And I wasn\u2019t going to\u2026<\/p>\n
