Amid scandals and investigations of Rep. Ilhan Omar\u2019s finances, a California winery co-owned by her husband has reportedly shut down.<\/p>\n

California business records<\/a> revealed that the Santa Rosa winery ceased operations earlier this month, soon after House Republicans began questioning Omar\u2019s net worth. The Minnesota Democrat\u2019s husband, Tim Mynett, reportedly owned a stake in eStCru Wines, which abruptly shut its doors on April 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people at the address didn\u2019t even know what we were talking about when we went out there because it never existed in that location,\u201d independent journalist Nick Sortor told Fox News\u2019 Kayleigh McEnany. \u201cAnd it\u2019s awfully coincidental that only days after her accounting error of millions of dollars, that this entity, this wine company, ends up being dissolved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFinancial disclosure forms, filed by your wife Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, show eStCru LLC and Rose Lake Capital LLC, which you hold ownership stakes in, went from being worth as much as $51,000 in 2023 to as much as $30 million in 2024,\u201d House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) wrote in a letter to Omar\u2019s husband back in February, referring to the winery founded in 2021 and a Washington, D.C.-based venture capital firm that Mynett co-founded in 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven that these companies do not publicly list their investors or where their money comes from, this sudden jump in value raises concerns that unknown individuals may be investing to gain influence with your wife,\u201d the letter to the political consultant continued.<\/p>\n

But Omar brushed away the apparent discrepancies, citing an accounting error for the difference in numbers, and also claiming her husband\u2019s assets were between $18,004 and $95,000 as opposed to the 2024 financial disclosure filing of between $6 million and $30 million.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe winery\u2019s short existence was marked by scandal, despite being named \u2018hot brand of the year\u2019 in 2022. By early 2023, its winemakers said they had stopped getting paid, and the brand was no longer advertising on social media,\u201d the New York Post<\/a> reported. \u201cIt was hit with several fraud allegations and lawsuits from investors, according to a 2024 report in the Minnesota Reformer. Former employees also told the newspaper that they hadn\u2019t been paid.\u201d<\/p>\n

This was quite the scam. There was no actual winery. It subcontracted producers of wine to bottle for them. The company had unnamed \u201cinvestors.\u201d Clearly this was an elaborate scheme for Omar and her husband to monetize her political office under the cover of a \u201cbusiness.\u201d https:\/\/t.co\/ysBDkbJcAB<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a lot more questions than answers here,\u201d Sortor told McEnany. \u201cWhere did that millions and millions of dollars go? Did it get loaded into suitcases and head off to Somalia?\u201d<\/p>\n
