An otherwise normal briefing in the White House turned into an entertaining encounter as a barefoot toddler interrupted President Donald Trump\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n

Two-year-old Travis Smith was the topic of discussion at one point, as his mother explained the \u201clife-changing\u201d restoration of his hearing thanks to a \u201cmiracle\u201d cure by Regeneron. But when the tiny-suit-wearing toddler had had his fill of adult talk, he wiggled his way out of his mother\u2019s arms and took to rolling around the carpet to the amusement of the president and other officials gathered in the Oval Office.<\/p>\n

The White House had some fun with the moment, posting a photo of young Smith lying face down, with the caption, \u201cALMOST FRIDAY.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s really incredible,\u201d Trump said during the gathering after he announced an agreement with pharmaceutical manufacturer Regeneron and its new gene therapy for Otarmeni, a rare type of genetic deafness that affected Smith, who was born six weeks early and diagnosed with OTOF.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was 100 per cent deaf, but he took this miracle cure, and now he can hear his mom, Sierra, say \u2018I love you,\u2019\u201d Trump marveled, and called the toddler a \u201cbeautiful boy.\u201d<\/p>\n
