James Carville threw a tantrum after President Donald Trump called him a \u201cwacko,\u201d describing himself as a \u201crabbi\u201d while declaring he would debate Trump \u201canytime.\u201d<\/p>\n

The veteran Democratic strategist likely landed on the president\u2019s radar after making the case last week for expanding the Supreme Court as well as statehood for Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. On his Politicon podcast on Wednesday, Carville reacted to Trump\u2019s attack on Truth Social in which the president ripped into the 81-year-old and other Democrats as \u201cCountry Destroying Sleazebags.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe attacked me. I said that the idea that the Democrats should do when they get power is immediately add Puerto Rico and District of Columbia as a state and expand the Supreme Court to 13. All right?\u201d Carville told co-host Al Hunt. \u201cThis is what I think is my role as rabbi. My job is to teach people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

\u201cWacko James Carville, a so-called Democrat \u2018strategist,\u2019 wants the Democrats to make D.C. and Puerto Rico States and, most importantly, pack the Supreme Court, putting 13 Justices on the Court,\u201d Trump wrote in a lengthy post. \u201cIf they pull off adding these two States, these Country Destroying Sleazebags will dominate politics in America, if we even have a Nation left, for 100 years (TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER!).\u201d<\/p>\n

Carville fired back at the president\u2019s comments during his podcast, doubling down on the issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many people in this country know that in the last nine presidential elections, the Democrats have won seven in the popular vote? Not very many people,\u201d he said as he addressed the popular vote in presidential elections, as well as packing the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe commentary in here, and maybe shows like ours, deserve some of the blame. Clearly, the press deserves blame,\u201d Carville added. \u201cPeople don\u2019t understand what\u2019s happening to this country. And this proposal, I think, if it does nothing else, is going to have a great educational purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI also put on notice Fox, Newsmax, whoever you are, if you want me to come on and discuss this and tell your viewers what the truth is about the United States, which you sincerely don\u2019t want to do. But if you invite me, I will go, all right?\u201d he said. \u201cDo not say that Mr. Carville was unavailable to comment because he is available for comment, and I will explain this, and I\u2019ll explain what\u2019s going on to this country for people that don\u2019t understand it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hunt interjected to tell his co-host that he shouldn\u2019t \u201cclear your schedule\u201d for the news outlets because \u201cI have a feeling they\u2019re not interested in hearing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think if Mr. Trump feels so strongly about this, he ought to challenge you to a debate. You could do it on his terms, wherever he wants to do it. Do it at Mar-a-Lago,\u201d he suggested.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnytime,\u201d Carville responded, adding, \u201cHe could have a designate.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right, guys. Stay tuned,\u201d Hunt concluded. \u201cIt could be Trump v. Carville.\u201d<\/p>\n
