{"id":590847,"date":"2026-04-23T16:07:16","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T16:07:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=590847"},"modified":"2026-04-23T16:07:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T16:07:16","slug":"uber-wealthy-anti-capitalist-writer-proudly-admits-to-stealing-from-places-like-whole-foods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=590847","title":{"rendered":"Uber-wealthy, \u2018anti-capitalist\u2019 writer proudly admits to stealing from places like Whole Foods"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/sg-anti-capitalist-loon-1200x630.jpg\" class=\"attachment-facebook size-facebook wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/div>\n<p>An uber-wealthy \u201canti-capitalist\u201d leftist loon who works for the Pravda press admitted this week to proudly stealing from grocery stores.<\/p>\n<p>Jia Tolentino, a 37-year-old writer for The New Yorker, made the admission during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/video\/opinion\/100000010849055\/the-rich-dont-play-by-the-rules-so-why-should-i.html?smid=url-share\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Times-hosted discussion<\/a> featuring her, Times opinion culture editor Nadja Spiegelman, and left-wing extremist and Mao-loving cultural Marxist Hasan Piker.<\/p>\n<p>The topic was microlooting, which refers to stealing supposedly \u201csmall\u201d items from large corporations like, say, Whole Foods.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The New York Times tacitly endorses crime as a form of protest <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZYdJ485o9g\">pic.twitter.com\/ZYdJ485o9g<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Rabbit Hole (@TheRabbitHole) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheRabbitHole\/status\/2047052305636503771?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 22, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When Spiegelman mentioned the idea of stealing specifically from supermarkets, Tolentino revealed that she\u2019d already started doing so while buying groceries for one of her Brooklyn neighbors, \u201cMiss Nancy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d be getting Miss Nancy all of her groceries, and then I would finish, and I\u2019d be like, oh my God, I forgot four lemons,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd on several occasions I was like, I\u2019m just going to go back in, grab those four lemons and get the hell out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the time, I was like, I had not been to Whole Foods. I had a bit more consumer discipline about where I was spending my money then, and I already felt like I was in the hole, even by shopping there. And it certainly felt, in a utilitarian sense, I was like, this is not a big deal,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Piker, who openly promotes the murder of CEOs, responded by saying how he is \u201cpro stealing from big corporations\u201d on the completely fake, made-up grounds that \u201cthey steal quite a bit more from their workers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also alleged that stolen items are just magically \u201cfactored in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe lemons that you stole are factored into the bottom line of these mega-corporations regardless,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd they still end up having increased profit margins, because they no longer have to pay the cashiers that they used to hire, as opposed to this automated system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He meant the self-checkout kiosks, some of them AI-powered, that have become increasingly popular in grocery stores:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Pretty soon it\u2019ll be impossible to fool a self checkout machine.<\/p>\n<p>Big groceries around the U.S. are testing AI powered self checkouts that use computer vision to detect any suspicious activity.<\/p>\n<p>Trained off massive amounts of video data and running on an edge server, the neural\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zt2S4ZvtU4\">pic.twitter.com\/zt2S4ZvtU4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 tech.explain (@techexplain1) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/techexplain1\/status\/2047017259181519084?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 22, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During the discussion, Piker gave a shout-out to so-called \u201ccool crimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got to get back to cool crimes like that: bank robberies, stealing priceless artifacts, things of that nature,\u201d he said. \u201cI feel like that\u2019s way cooler than the 7,000th new cryptocurrency scheme that people are engaging in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The discussion was so radical that even some fellow Democrats cried foul, with one, Jeremiah Johnson, wondering if the Times would be equally OK with people stealing from them by bypassing their annoying paywall.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson also commented on social media about how \u201cdamaging\u201d it is for the media to prop up left-wingers like the three stooges who were featured in the Times discussion.<\/p>\n<p>Look:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I assume the NYTimes also thinks bypassing their paywall is just \u2018micro-looting\u2019, a brave anti-capitalist act of resistance, since they are a corporation that made hundreds of millions in profit last year <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Yc5fyq6N4a\">https:\/\/t.co\/Yc5fyq6N4a<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jeremiah Johnson <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/17.0.2\/72x72\/1f310.png\" alt=\"\ud83c\udf10\" class=\"wp-smiley\" \/> (@JeremiahDJohns) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JeremiahDJohns\/status\/2047045712613978344?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 22, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">It is genuinely so damaging to Democratic politics to have idiot shitheads like this putting out \u201cackshually stealing is good and what we on the left stand for\u201d messaging in the New York Fucking Times.
