{"id":590843,"date":"2026-04-23T16:19:04","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T16:19:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=590843"},"modified":"2026-04-23T16:19:04","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T16:19:04","slug":"ceo-of-southern-poverty-law-center-made-520k-per-year-org-worked-closely-with-biden-harris-doj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=590843","title":{"rendered":"CEO of Southern Poverty Law Center made $520k per year; org worked closely with Biden-Harris DOJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/sg-splc-boss-1200x630.jpg\" class=\"attachment-facebook size-facebook wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The disgraced and now-indicted Southern Poverty Law Center began its descent into partisan madness under the helm of Margaret Huang.<\/p>\n<p>Installed at the SPLC as president and CEO in 2020 after co-founder Morris Seligman Dees Jr. was fired, Huang transformed the organization from one that defends civil rights to one that persecutes conservatives and Christians, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/23\/us-news\/how-splcs-520000-per-year-ceo-helped-turn-civil-rights-group-into-a-partisan-smear-machine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, her tenure at the SPLC, which finally ended last summer, coincided with the organization \u201caccusing conservative and religious groups like the Alliance Defending Freedom, Moms for Liberty, and the Family Research Council of fomenting \u2018hate\u2019 or \u2018extremism.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Moms for Liberty was labeled and targeted by the SPLC because we successfully fought and won local battles for parental rights and transparency in education.<\/p>\n<p>Sunlight is the best disinfectant.<br \/>\nNow that the sunlight is here, let\u2019s see what else we can uncover about this woke\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6ATsm4tNSp\">pic.twitter.com\/6ATsm4tNSp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Moms for Liberty (@Moms4Liberty) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Moms4Liberty\/status\/2046801801043673566?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 22, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Huang, whose compensation totaled $522,000 in 2023 according to Post reports, is such a radical that she penned an op-ed last year for the left-wing extremist blog <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/stories\/2025\/6\/15\/2327114\/news\/Divide-demoralize-dismantle-The-hard-right-wants-to-break-our-democracy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Kos<\/a> in which she smeared everybody from people who wanted to keep schools open during COVID to parents who wanted their rights over their own children to be respected.<\/p>\n<p>She was especially mad at Florida, considered by many to be the freest and best state in the country, for adopting Republican policies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFlorida was a leading incubator in which these policies took shape,\u201d she whined. \u201cThey \u2026 sought to shut down drag story hours, ban discussion of LGBTQ+ identities in the classroom, and deny gender-affirming medical care for young transgender people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So-called \u201cgender-affirming medical care\u201d typically means surgeries to physically remove the genitals of children.<\/p>\n<p>Huang also kvetched about the right\u2019s attacks on DEI, a subversive policy that calls for rectifying historical discrimination against black and Hispanic minorities by applying active discrimination against modern whites and Asians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese measures restricted discussions of race and gender in college classrooms and cut funding for diversity personnel and offices, impacting 212 college campuses in 32 states,\u201d she complained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompanies also increasingly faced legal challenges and pressure from lawmakers and political candidates to drop their DEI programs. Last year, Walmart, Boeing, John Deere, Lowe\u2019s, Ford, and many more announced they would scale back their efforts,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Elected Democrats have made similar complaints, which just goes to show how extreme the party has become:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey claims companies are abandoning DEI policies because of the threat from Donald Trump:<br \/>\nLulu Garcia Navarro: \u201cPresident Trump has made rolling back DEI which is diversity, equity and inclusion, central to his political project.\u201d<br \/>\nMaura Healey:\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/WNlFMkYqR2\">pic.twitter.com\/WNlFMkYqR2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Eric Abbenante (@EricAbbenante) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EricAbbenante\/status\/1895967210935407052?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 1, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During the Biden administration, the SPLC worked hand in hand with Democrats to target, censor, and persecute conservatives and Christians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe DOJ, during Attorney General Merrick Garland\u2019s tenure, colluded with the radical, left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center on matters relating to federal civil rights enforcement,\u201d House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/media\/in-the-news\/just-how-closely-did-bidens-doj-rely-splc-jim-jordan-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe extent of the SPLC\u2019s influence over our nation\u2019s federal law enforcement during the Biden-Harris administration is deeply concerning, and we respectfully request additional information on this matter,\u201d he added at the time in a missive to the DOJ.<\/p>\n<p>In the letter, Jordan further noted how the SPLC loves to smear conservatives as this, that, and the other.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe SPLC routinely maligns conservative and religious organizations, such as Turning Point USA, Family Research Council, and Moms for Liberty, as \u2018hate\u2019 groups simply because the SPLC disagrees with their views,\u201d he rightly wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that the Biden-Harris DOJ would foster a close relationship with the SPLC, knowing its biased political ideology, is concerning and just more evidence of the Biden-Harris administration\u2019s weaponization of the federal government against certain Americans,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Huang resigned this past July amid massive layoffs and during a time of family stress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the last few months, I have had one parent enter hospice care and another parent begin memory care,\u201d she wrote at the time in an SPLC blog post. \u201cThis experience has been devastating for our family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, living my personal values means choosing to leave a job I love to be more present and available to my loved ones. I have always found inspiration in serving others, and today those people are actually my parents.
