Her lawyer said she would only speak if granted clemency by President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>House Oversight Chair James Comer said \u201ca lot of people\u201d believe a pardon is a reasonable exchange for Maxwell\u2019s testimony, but conceded that the committee \u201cis split\u201d over the argument.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t speak for my committee,\u201d Comer continued during an interview on Wednesday while stating that he is not in favor of the proposed exchange, according to Politico.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it looks bad,\u201d he said. \u201cHonestly, other than Epstein, the worst person in this whole investigation is Maxwell.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I made my position clear: I am not open to a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell.<\/p>\n<p>In the future, use my full statement.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t post clickbait. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RfflZEeZuS\">https:\/\/t.co\/RfflZEeZuS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep.
