UK <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/uk-and-france-to-lead-multinational-strait-of-hormuz-military-planning-conference\"><span>is hosting<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0(yesterday and today) a two-day multinational conference <strong>convening military planners from more than 30 countries as Britain and France renew efforts to re-open the Strait of Hormuz.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/strait%20global%20force.jpg?itok=aF7HMe_2\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/strait%20global%20force.jpg?itok=aF7HMe_2\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"8eca15df-8139-4043-908b-d9e14e64a1d1\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"209\" width=\"500\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" conference takes place just after U.S. President Donald Trump late on Tuesday <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Latest-Energy-News\/World-News\/Trump-Extends-Iran-Ceasefire-Until-Talks-Conclude-One-Way-or-the-Other.html\"><span>extended<\/span><\/a><span> the U.S.-Iran ceasefire until negotiations with Iran conclude \u201cone way or the other.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>President Trump has also ordered that the U.S. blockade at the Strait of Hormuz remains in place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Hopes of U.S.-Iran negotiations resuming as early as Wednesday were dashed after reports emerged that the trip of U.S. Vice President JD Vance to Pakistan, which hosted the previous round of failed talks, has been <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/livecoverage\/iran-war-israel-us-strait-hormuz-2026\/card\/vance-pauses-trip-to-pakistan-for-iran-talks-GREfTsAXPSJmaW2WXphN\"><span>put on hold<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As of early Wednesday, there were no signs that the talks could resume soon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The U.S. is keeping the naval blockade outside the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has called a \u201csiege\u201d and a violation of the ceasefire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The UK, which early this month hosted <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Latest-Energy-News\/World-News\/UK-Hosts-36-Country-Summit-to-Reopen-Strait-of-Hormuz.html\"><span>the first such meeting<\/span><\/a><span>, said that this week\u2019s conference is part of the UK and French leadership of a multinational coalition to reopen the Strait.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><strong>\u201cThe sessions will advance military plans to reopen the Strait, as soon as conditions permit, following a sustainable ceasefire agreement,\u201d<\/strong> the UK government <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/uk-and-france-to-lead-multinational-strait-of-hormuz-military-planning-conference\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> in a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span>\u201cThe task, today and tomorrow, is to translate the diplomatic consensus into a joint plan to safeguard freedom of navigation in the Strait and support a lasting ceasefire,\u201d UK Defence Secretary John Healey said ahead of the conference.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span><strong>\u201cInternational trade, energy security and the stability of the global economy depend on freedom of navigation,\u201d<\/strong> the UK official added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span>\u201cBy building on our common purpose, strengthening multinational coordination and planning for effective collective action, we can help reopen the Strait, stabilise the global economy and protect our people.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>      <span class=\"field
