Magyar just accomplished a dramatic landslide defeat of Viktor Orb\u00e1n last Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><a data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/magyar.jpg?itok=Eo6qy1ti\" data-link-option=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/magyar.jpg?itok=Eo6qy1ti\"><\/a><\/p>\n<figure role=\"group\" class=\"caption caption-img inline-images image-style-inline-images\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"b51b2728-ef04-4c45-a0e4-14cdf683dc16\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/magyar.jpg?itok=Eo6qy1ti\" width=\"500\" \/><figcaption><em>via AP<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The pipeline, which carries crude to Hungary and Slovakia, has sat at the center of a monthslong ratcheting standoff, which <strong>served to further distance Hungary under Orban from the EU<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary and Slovakia have accused the Zelensky government of intentionally delaying repairs to pressure them, after a last January alleged Russian strike on\u00a0Druzhba damaged it, and halted oil flows to central Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has just confirmed on social media, &#8220;Ukraine has completed repair work on the section of the oil pipeline that was damaged by a Russian strike,&#8221; and hence:\u00a0&#8220;The pipeline can resume operation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We must continue systematic sanctions pressure on Russia over this war and work on further diversifying energy supplies to Europe,&#8221; Zelensky said further. &#8220;Europe must be independent from those who seek to destroy or weaken it,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas told reporters in Luxembourg that an agreement on the funds is expected within 24 hours: &#8220;I hope that everything goes well,&#8221; she said. &#8220;<strong>Hopefully, all the obstacles are removed.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As for Magyar, his election win was heralded as a substantial victory for the global left wing, from EU globalists to Democrats in the US.
