Lori Chavez-DeRemer, the Trump administration\u2019s labor secretary, resigned from her position on Monday.<\/p>\n

Following President Donald Trump\u2019s firings of former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Attorney General Pam Bondi, it appears that further changes to his cabinet are coming. DeRemer posted about her resignation on X, touting her work in furthering the president\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n

White House spokesman Steven Cheung revealed that Deputy Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling will be taking over as Acting Labor Secretary.<\/p>\n

Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer will be leaving the Administration to take a position in the private sector. She has done a phenomenal job in her role by protecting American workers, enacting fair labor practices, and helping Americans gain additional skills to improve their\u2026<\/p>\n

Her resignation comes amid an Office of Inspector General inquiry, which The New York Post<\/em> reported should be wrapping up in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Post\u00a0first exposed<\/a> a whistleblower complaint filed against the labor secretary in January that alleged she drank in the office during work hours, created a hostile work environment with her top aides and was pursuing an extramarital affair with her security guard,\u201d the outlet reported. \u201cThe complaint also claimed she committed \u2018travel fraud\u2019 by having those aides \u2014 chief of staff Jihun Han and deputy Rebecca Wright \u2014 \u2018make up\u2019 official trips to destinations where she could spend time with family or friends on the taxpayers\u2019 dime.\u201d<\/p>\n
