Elisabeth Hasselbeck exposed co-host Sunny Hostin\u2019s hypocrisy in calling President Donald Trump\u2019s attack on Iran \u201cillegal\u201d on \u201cThe View\u201d this week, asking the biased left-winger if she objected when her favorite messiah, Barack Obama, bombed Libya in 2011.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo did you believe it was illegal in April of 2011, when the Office of Legal Counsel memo stated from President Obama that the president has constitutional authority to direct the use of military force in Libya because you could reasonably determine that such use of force was in the national interest?\u201d asked Hasselbeck, who was guest-hosting on the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrior congressional approval was not constitutionally required to use military force in these operations,\u201d she said. \u201cWhere were you then complaining?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was at home complaining,\u201d Hostin claimed, after noting that she wasn\u2019t on the show then. \u201cBut I wasn\u2019t complaining because the Office of Legal Counsel was involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis president [Trump] does not go through the Office of Legal Counsel,\u201d she continued, before spewing Democratic Party talking points. \u201cThis president does not go to Congress. Congress has the power to enact \u2014 to approve wars. This Congress has the power of the purse. This president is acting more like a king than anything else. He is the commander in chief, but he is not a king.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hostin then claimed that Trump violated the U.S. Constitution when he ordered the strikes without getting approval from Congress.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think that this was done appropriately. I maintain that this is illegal and unconstitutional,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Hasselbeck asked Hostin if she liked the outcome of the attack on Iran, and she shot back, \u201cNo, I don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a commercial break, co-host Sara Haines further exposed Hostin\u2019s Trump Derangement Syndrome when she reminded her that \u201cevery modern president\u201d has taken similar action as Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn regard to what Sunny\u2019s saying about it being an illegal war, every modern president since Reagan has done this in attacks \u2014 from Syria, Libya, Bosnia, Panama. So it happens continually, to give it context,\u201d Haines said. \u201cCongress has ceded this power a long time ago. And I have a lot of criticisms of Congress, and this is one of them. If you want to be part of the conversation, don\u2019t hand your power over to the presidents, which they have done.\u201d<\/p>\n
